What is Bone Densitometry?
Bone Densitometry is used to measure a patient's bone mineral
density (BMD) and will aid in the diagnosis of osteoporosis. The test
compares the patient's BMD to a standard based on age, weight, sex and
ethnic background. If the mineral content is low, bones are weaker and
more susceptible to fracture.
